"Diversity Plaza" is a new documentary by Kesang Tseten that had its world premiere in 2023 at DOC NYC, the USA's largest documentary festival. The film showcases a community of Himalayan and Tibetan immigrants in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, New York - an area often referred to as the most diverse zip code in America.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Tibetan and Himalayan creatives, Premila Van Ommen, Sanyukta Shrestha and Kunsang Kelden.

Join us for an informal evening of Tibetan short films, live performances and great tunes! Sounds from 9pm-2am provided by Tsuptér arts collective from New York. Blend of hip hop and RnB classics, Afrobeatz, Baile, house/UK garage with modern Tibetan/Desi influence. After 10:30pm the afterparty will transition from The Lighthouse to Cirque, only 3 minutes walk away.

The late pioneer and Tibetan auteur Pema Tseden’s last completed and award-winning feature SNOW LEOPARD is set in the vast and stunning Tibetan terrain, and uses the fabled creature to pose and probe the universal question of tradition versus modernity.
Before the film there will be a live musical performance by renowned Tibetan musician Ngawang Lodup, transporting us to Amdo! There will be a short discussion after the film about the legacy of Pema Tseden on Tibetan filmmaking.
